How can you offer real hope to suicidal clients? Recognize when ideation has transitioned into intent, and implement an effective safety plan.

Full Description:
Suicide is the 10th leading cause of death in the U.S. and the 3rd leading cause of death of American adolescents. Despite these alarming statistics, even behavioral health professionals are often afraid to discuss this most important subject with clients. Frequently, clinicians jump to hospitalization when other options may actually be more effective. Research has shown that in some locales, inpatient hospitalization has been decreased by 30% when using effective safety planning.

This webinar will explore the differences between death and suicide ideation, ideation vs. intent, the role of hopelessness, protective factors, and effective safety planning. Participants will gain the practical tools and information necessary to keep clients safe.
