Are you and the DSM-5 speaking the same language on Substance Use Disorders? Dr. Clare Steffen explains the updated terminology and diagnostic criteria.

Full Description:
For over 10 years, we have been focused on determining the best language to use when talking about addiction. With the release of the DSM- 5, we can now move away from simple categories and formally recognize that substance use and accompanying problems exist across a full spectrum.

This webinar explores the rationale for changes found within the DSM-5. Participants consider how to embrace these changes, while also including traditional concepts of dependence and abuse and familiar behavioral guideposts of tolerance and withdrawal symptoms. Dr. Clare Steffen highlights the benefits of the new terminology for developing more accurate diagnoses, creating new treatment and prevention paradigms, and reducing socio-cultural bias.

Course Includes:
Live Q&A
Presentation Handout
Post session recording access
CE Credit
