Many mental health professionals have more anxiety about legal ramifications of their actions than ethical practice. The fact remains that knowledge of ethical standards and decision making processes can enhance client care and decrease the clinician’s anxiety over legality. 
    
This webinar specifically addresses the issues of ethical boundaries with clients, and clinician accountability related to professional conduct. Dr. Spencer calls attention to the cultural, dual relationship, and intimacy issues surrounding therapeutic relationships and how personal agenda can influence each and every aspect.  Participants will have the opportunity to review specific citations from the ethics and standards related to relationships and boundaries.

Your Presenter:
BRUCE J. SPENCER, MA, PhD, LMHC, LPCC, LMSW, NCC, has nearly 40 years of experience as a clinician and administrator of inpatient mental health and chemical dependency programs, including 10 years of independent clinical practice. He holds a doctorate in psychology and has 10 years of experience as an adjunct professor of psychology. Specializing in ethical issues, he has more than 1,000 hours of advanced education in ethics, a certification in Advanced Ethical Studies, and has written curricula for ethics and solution-focused treatment. Over the past 30 years, Dr. Spencer has presented more than 100 day-long seminars nationwide and published numerous articles. He is licensed in Washington (LMHC), New Mexico (LPCC), and Michigan (LMSW), and NBCC certified.
