While it is evident that IoT (Internet of Things) will be a revolutionary force in many ways, it also presents challenges and opportunities across multiple industry sectors. Based on in-depth analysis performed by global communities, such as the World Economic Forum, the success of IoT may hinge upon:

• Return on investment (social, commercial or otherwise) for use/business case scenarios;
• Standardization which provides interoperability, compatibility, reliability, and effective operations globally; and
• Security, privacy and safety for humans and things

In this webinar, Satish Parupalli of Intel will present the International Electronics Manufacturing Initiative’s (iNEMI) vision for IoT in the coming years.  He will discuss the origins and foundations of IoT, move on to the situation analysis where market growth is analyzed by leveraging research and conclude with a discussion of critical issues with regard to realizing the potential of this new wave of technology/computing.
The iNEMI is a not-for-profit, highly efficient R&D consortium of approximately 90 leading electronics manufacturers, suppliers, associations, government agencies and universities.

Satish Parupalli  has worked as an Engineering Manager at Intel for the last 12 years. He is Chair of the IoT Product Emulator Group (PEG) of the 2017 iNEMI Roadmap. He he has been part of the Assembly Test Technology Development FA Labs since 2005, and he currently manages the failure analysis of board level interconnect technologies.
