Tom says achieving stability with his bipolar disorder took a very long time. He was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder II more than 20 years ago. The diagnosis came too late to save his marriage and career, as he will tell us.
Tom speaks about what he calls his "family curse" of bipolar disorder and how he transformed it from a fragmented life to one of wholeness and has lived to tell the story to give others suffering from mental illness the strength and hope for living a better life.
Tom Roberts earned his Master's degree in Radio-TV-Film from the University of Kansas. He is a former broadcast journalist and college professor. He has worked as a professional actor and voice-over artist. Tom's story has been featured by the National Association on Mental Illness and "Stigma Fighters". Tom lives in Huntington Beach,CA and speaks and writes about mental illness and mental illness stigma.
