Nucleic acids contain more than 150 atypical nucleosides. Since many of these epigenetically modified nucleosides are sensitive to conditions used by existing DNA/RNA synthesis techniques, nucleic acids with sensitive modified nucleosides are currently unavailable or extremely challenging through synthetic chemistry.
During this online webinar, Dr. Shiyue Fang will discuss experimental examples of sensitive nucleosides from the aspects of the biological roles, relations to clinical applications, the difficulties associated with synthesizing nucleic acids containing sensitive nucleosides, as well as the status of the Dim-Dmoc method developed by his research group at Michigan Technological University that overcomes these challenges.
Key Points:
- Structures of sensitive nucleosides
- Dim-Dmoc methods for sensitive nucleic acid synthesis
- Insights on applications of sensitive nucleic acids
