This presentation is about setting realistic goals and appreciating higher education value wherever it’s found.

You will learn how the college search process has been driven by outside forces that have created an out-of-control frenzy (think College Admissions Scandal) to gain admissions to a top tier school. The numbers presented by rankings are not only dubious - they are a very select set that don’t give a complete or accurate picture. Students and families need more complete information to make better decisions.

During the session you will learn to:

• How to save thousands of dollars on an undergraduate degree
•  How families make good choices based on independent data
• The subjective nature of college rankings
•  A brief history of college admissions
• Select universities that meet your short and long-term goals based on your unique needs and circumstances (Don’t let the system drive you to a poor decision.)
• Perform an accurate self-assessment. (It’s not as tedious as you might think.)
•  Use business decision making tools to help you
•  Factor in all college costs to determine your true budget
• Be confident in your choices

At the end of the session, there will be an opportunity for attendees to network with and learn from each other.
