Leadership is seeing opportunities when things go wrong, and taking the necessary steps to shape the desirable outcomes.
When Pastor Jones announced burning 2998 copies of Qur'an on Wednesday, September 11, 2013; one for each American life lost on September 11, 2001. We foresaw the damages it will do, and decided to fix the problem.
Issues at hand were;

• Freedom of speech guaranteed in the American constitution to the Pastor,
• Perceptions about Islam as a few among Muslims will become a fodder to the Media with their violence,
• Safety of fellow Americans and fellow Muslims around the world
• Honoring the victims in more dignified way and finally how do we build cohesive societies, where no one has to live in fear of the other.

Facts don't matter to emotionally charged people, but actions do. So we took the actions necessary to skillfully mange the issues and bring about a positive change, changing perceptions about Islam, Muslims and the Prophet and earning tremendous respect.
