Assure your clients that help is only a phone call away. Discover triaging methods for determining crisis levels and appropriate interventions.
Full Description:
Mental health emergencies can happen at any time. At some point, most clinicians will be faced with suicidal, homicidal, psychotic or withdrawing clients while on call. Participants in this unique webinar will learn to triage such emergencies by telephone, and in so doing will be able to provide powerful interventions and follow up.
Mr. Webb draws on his vast experience providing on-call and mobile crisis services to teach participants the skills necessary to work with clients telephonically. He offers proven techniques for overcoming the unique challenges presented by the lack of face-to-face contact and the intrusion into “personal time”. Participants will consider the effectiveness of several intervention strategies for addressing the immediate emergency and keeping the client safe.
Course Includes:
Live Q&A
Presentation Handout
Post session recording access
CE Credit
What You Will Learn:
Describe the dynamics involved in establishing a telephonic relationship
Outline the steps necessary to assess for suicide, homicide, psychosis, and withdrawal via telephone
Evaluate interventions for the telephonic client
Formulate effective plans for keeping the telephonic client safe
Explain the importance of following up with the telephonic client
