From April and June of this year, the requirements of the new EU Directives relating to equipment electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), electrical product safety (LVD) and radio equipment apply. The webinar will explain the scope of each law together with the obligations that arise depending on what your business does, e.g. manufacture, import or distribute. It will detail how, precisely, the laws have changed and what, for instance, Declarations of Conformity now need to include.
By participating in the webinar you will learn if your products are affected as well as what you need to do to comply. Guidance will also be given on how to determine applicable standards in support of conformity.

Alex is a technical professional with over 10 years’ experience working on product regulatory, standards and policy issues in the UK and internationally. The focus of this work has been largely environmental, covering the likes of batteries, biocidal products, ecodesign, energy labelling, packaging, REACH, RoHS, timber sustainability and WEEE.
Alex joined Edif ERA in January 2015. Prior to this he held positions in industry inclusive of a role in AMDEA, the UK trade association for household appliances. Here Alex gained first-hand experience of law and policy formation at both the EU and UK levels in representation of industry views to Commission, Government and other stakeholders. It was also in this capacity that Alex became versed in standards formation via his participation in British Standards Institution Committees on energy and environmental issues.
